5 Minute Chocolate Chip Dip
Prep time: 5 minutes | Serves: 8-10 | Make-Ahead Friendly
This dessert dip requires zero baking, uses staples you probably already have, and tastes absolutely decadent. It’s Super Bowl week, which means it’s about to become your new secret weapon. Fair warning: people will ask you for this recipe. Every. Single. Time.
This Game Day favorite is both sentimental and practical for me. I first tried it when our family was displaced during Hurricane Rita while staying at a dear friend’s house. Nothing like comfort food during a difficult experience to really cement the memory! After that experience, this recipe quickly became a family favorite. I’ve made it hundreds of times since that hurricane evacuation and it has never let me down.
The practical reason I keep coming back? Everything in this recipe lives in my pantry and fridge year-round—no last minute grocery run needed. Just throw everything in a bowl and mix. If you can stir, you can make this.
Ingredients:
8oz package of cream cheese
1 stick of butter
¾ cup powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions: Soften cream cheese and butter to room temperature. Mix together until smooth—you can do this with a spoon, but a hand mixer makes it easy and gives you a fluffier dip. Add powdered sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Mix until fully incorporated and creamy. Fold in chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.
Pro tip: This actually tastes better after chilling for 30 minutes (it firms up slightly), but it’s perfectly delicious served immediately if you’re in a rush.
What to serve it with:
Chocolate graham crackers (our personal favorite)
Brownie brittle (levels it up for a something a little fancier)
Chocolate Sweet Thins (great GF option)
Save this for your next potluck, holiday party, or Tuesday night when you need something sweet. It works for every occasion and has rescued me from “I forgot to make dessert” panic more times than I can count.
Your turn: What’s your go-to last-minute dessert that never fails? Drop it in the comments—I’m always looking for new ideas to add to my emergency entertaining arsenal!
